Anginettis

These traditional Italian cookies are served at many holidays and weddings in the old Italian neighborhood! They are very simple lightly sweetened cookies that are traditionally flavored with anise, almond, or lemon and then dipped in a sweet sugar glaze. Everyone will love them!

  • Oven Temp: 350 Degrees Fahrenheit
  • Baking Time: 10 - 12 Minutes

Ingredients Needed

Sugar 0.75 Cups Walmart
Unsifted Flour 2.5 Cups Walmart
Eggs x3 Walmart
Butter 1.5 Sticks Walmart
Baking Powder 3 Teaspoons Walmart
Salt A pinch Walmart
Vanilla 1 Teaspoon Walmart
Milk 0.25 Cups Walmart

Pre-baking Directions

  1. Mix all of the dry ingredients together (Sugar, Flour, Baking Powder, Salt).
  2. Cut up the butter into much smaller portions than just sticks and mix those smaller portions into the dry ingredients.
  3. Beat the eggs together in a separate bowl for the time being.
  4. Add milk to the bowl of eggs and mix.
  5. Combine the two mixtures all as one, mix well until completely coalesced (an electric mixer is recommended).
  6. Once fully mixed, take small amount of portions of the dough. With each portion, tie them into a knot and lay spaced out on a baking tray.
